FIA arrests blackmailers stalking couples in Karachi University
The cybercrime wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) opened the year by arresting two men involved in blackmailing, harassment, extortion and sharing objectionable material in Karachi University.
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) National Response Centre for Cyber Crime (NRC3) registered the case No. 01 of 2022 on the complaint of a woman who chose to speak up rather than get blackmailed and exploited for the rest of her life.
According to FIA Additional Director Cyber Crime Sindh Imran Riaz, a raid was carried out at Karachi University under Operation Cyber Storm to catch the suspects.

He said that the accused Fazal Dad and Adnan Ali used to make videos of men and women without their consent. Videos of the victims were made while they were in their personal vehicles at various places in the varsity sprawling over more than a thousand acres of land.
However, a woman came forward and complained to the FIA that she was being by the alleged blackmailers to meet them in person or pay money, otherwise she would have to suffer the consequences.
FIA sleuths laid a trap under the code name Operation Cyber Storm, tracked the suspect and hauled them away. The agency seized the digital devices of the duo and conducted a forensic analysis. The analysis proved that they were involved in blackmailing and harassing at least seven couples of the Karachi University.

The videos and photos made by the suspect went viral on social media that include a rickshaw driver and a driver of a university professor. The other six affected couples refused to come forward due to confidentiality.
Consequently, case crime Number 01 of 2022 was registered against both the suspects under sections 16, 20, 21 and 24 of Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 read with sections 109 and 383 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Further investigations are underway to determine the possible involvement of any other university employee. Like12:19 am
