A polling schedule for by-elections in Ward-II of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has been announced.

As per the revised scheme sent by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to the RCB, the Cantonment Executive Officer will be the returning officer and the district and sessions judge will be the district returning officer for the by-elections.

The election in the RCB Ward-II was originally scheduled for September 12, 2021. However, due to the death of a female candidate, the election was postponed. There are currently 61,087 registered voters in the ward, who will elect their representative in the polling on February 9. Out of these, 33,634 are male and 27,453 female voters. There will be a total of 80 male and 64 female polling booths for the by-polls.

The nomination papers will be received from January 10 to January 13. The list of candidates will be displayed on January 14. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be completed from January 15 to January 18. Appeals against the rejection of nomination papers will be filed by January 20. Appeals will be disposed of by January 24. A revised list of candidates will be displayed on January 25. The final list of candidates will be displayed on January 27 and election symbols will be issued on the same day. Polling will be held on February 9. Interim preliminary results will be announced on the same day, while the official result will be announced on February 11.
