ISLAMABAD:

Residents are disappointed over the delay in executing the plan to separate shared power feeders in Balakot and the Kaghan Valley. Currently, when the high-altitude areas receive heavy rains and snowfall, both experience power outages due to the shared feeders.

Balakot city and its suburbs are also plunged into darkness as a result. Because of the prevailing situation, the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) started working on a plan to separate the Kaghan feeder.

A spokesperson of the authority said that work on the new feeder was being delayed once more due to unavoidable reasons. The public opines that the delay is actually because of the federal proximity to Balakot, and its ability to provide electricity to surrounding areas through this system.

The people of Balakot have demanded of the WAPDA to take steps to separate the feeders so that citizens can avoid load shedding.
