Man who ‘delivered’ Arshad Pappu to killers shot dead
Axed police official Javed Baloch, who had captured Arshad Pappu -- one of the main characters of Lyari gang war, was shot dead on Friday in broad daylight.
The incident took place in Soldier Bazaar in which Javed Baloch's acquaintance was also killed. He was returning after appearing in Anti-Terrorism Court after hearing of the Arshad Pappu murder case.
Arshad Pappu, was killed early in early hours of Sunday, March 17, 2013 along with his brother and an associate allegedly by gangland rival Uzair Baloch in very gruesome manner.
The then SHO of Lyari police station, Javed, allegedly handed over Pappu, his brother Yasir Arfat, and trusted partner Shera Pathan, to the killers. He was sacked from his service and was nominated in the extra-judicial killing of the gangster who was himself wanted in several cases of murder and carried a head money of Rs2 million.
SSP East Qamar Raza Jaskani while talking to media persons at the scene said that Javed Baloch was a former Sindh police officer who had been removed from the service.
The Joint Investigation Committee (JIT) investigating the murder of Arshad Pappu in the gang war had also investigated Javed Baloch and found him involved in the extrajudicial killing of Arshad Pappu.

According to preliminary information, Javed Baloch was killed on the same grounds. His accomplice Musaddiq was a retired employee of the Sindh Secretariat who was now retired.
Police found 18 shells and four bullets at the scene. There had been no signs that the victims had been robbed, indicating that the incident was a case of targeted killing and personal enmity. However, further investigations are underway.
SSP Qamar Raza Jaskani further said that there were four suspects on two motorcycles who managed to escape after the incident.
