Unidentified suspects had brutally slit victim’s throat

OKARA:

A tortured body of a youth was recovered from a private housing society within the limits of City Depalpur Police Station in the city on Friday.

Police said unidentified assailants brutally cut the throat of the victim.

The victim was identified as Mohammad Akhtar, a resident of Mohalla Hamid Shah. Police said the victim’s throat was slit with a sharp-edged weapon.

The police reached the spot on receiving information and the body was shifted to THQ Hospital for postmortem after the necessary investigation

DPO Faisal Gulzar took immediate notice of the incident and directed SHO City Depalpur Qalb Sajjad to form a team to arrest the suspects.

Police said the motive for the killing was yet to be ascertained.

Empty bottles of liquor and alcohol were reportedly found near the naked body of the victim.

A police official said it could be possible that the victim and the killer drank alcohol together and later the victim was killed in intoxication. He said the facts will only come to light after the investigations.

The province has witnessed a number of cases in which tortured bodies were found after horrific crime incidents.

On November 4, the body of a minor was found by the police in Lodhan.

Reportedly, the police claimed that the minor girl was abducted and raped before the decapitation.

The accused allegedly abducted the victim and brutally murdered her after raping her. He then tied the victim's body to a tree in a cotton field and escaped.

It was reported that the accused could not sleep for 15 days due to “fear” and remained restless.

The accused told the whole story to the girl's family. Police later recovered the body of the deceased from a local field on the identification of the accused. Animals had torn the victim's body, and only parts of the body were found which were sent for forensic tests.

Sources said that the suspect was upset that the victim had had a relationship with someone else as well. The killer was so upset over the matter that he committed the horrific murder.

Suspect Nawab Ali, Pinnu and Ijaz had abducted the 19-year-old victim from her parents' house on 25/9/21.
