Five die in road accidents

At least five people died while 910 were injured in 861 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Out of this figure, 523 people were seriously injured who were shifted to different hospitals while 387 mildly injured victims were treated at the incident sites.

The majority of accidents (66%) involved motorbikes. Further, the analysis showed that 367 drivers, 38 underage drivers, 133 pedestrians, and 415 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic crashes.

The statistics shows that 203 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 207 people placing the provincial capital at the top of the list, followed by Faisalabad and Multan.

The details further reveal that 169 victims were under 18 years of age, 512 between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 234 victims were reported to be above 40 years of age.
