Over 100 rare photos of Quaid on display

Provincial Minister of Punjab for Literacy and Non-Formal Education Raja Rashid Hafeez has said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah envisioned the Muslims of the subcontinent as an independent state, and made it a reality in the form of Pakistan.

He was speaking as a special guest at a photo exhibition and cake cutting ceremony organised by the Punjab Arts Council (PAC), to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Quaid.

The exhibition featured over 100 rare paintings on the life of the Quaid and his struggle for an independent Pakistan.

The event also showcased portraits of the father of the country by renowned artist Farhana Ali. Hafeez said that according to the ideas of Jinnah, making Pakistan a welfare state should be one of the top priorities of the government.

“For the development of Pakistan, we need to follow the words of the father of the nation, Quaid-eAzam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, "work, work, and only work,” he added.

Addressing the function, renowned drama writer Naheed Manzoor said that the Quaid was one of the great leaders the world had seen. “He united the Muslims of the subcontinent on a single platform to achieve independence,” she said. “It is the duty of every Pakistani to contribute to the development of the country according to the teachings of the Quaid,” she added.

Meanwhile, PAC Director Waqar Ahmad said that the main purpose of the exhibition was to acquaint the new generation with the Quaid. “Thanks to the great struggle of Quaid-e-Azam, today we are breathing in the open air. There is no greater blessing in the world than freedom”, he added.
