Case of child’s death in crossfire registered
Police have registered a case pertaining to the incident in which a four-year-old girl was killed in an exchange of fire in Shah Latif Town.
Case crime No. 1963 of 2021 has been registered on the complaint of Mudassir Shah, the manager of the mart where the incident took place.
According to the FIR, four of the six suspects looted the mart while two stood outside. The suspects were fleeing after looting Rs78,500 from the mart when the security guard opened fire. The suspects also returned fire, killing a four-year-old child Hermain daughter of Mumtaz.
Meanwhile, the police helpline Madadgar 15 was called. Shortly afterwards, the Madadgar 15 and area police reached the spot and chased the fleeing suspects and one of them was apprehended from Green Park Society Cemetery in injured condition. Weapons and Rs48,000 from the snatched amount were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspect.
Police are conducting raids at various places in search of his fleeing accomplices in the light of investigation from arrested accused Pyar Ali. Police are confident that the remaining suspects will be arrested soon.
Meanwhile, the father of Hermain has demanded the arrest of all the suspects and severe punishment for them. Hermain's father lives and works in Dubai.
As soon as he received the news he came to Karachi on Thursday morning. Hermain was the youngest among his three kids.
Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly, Haleem Adil Sheikh expressed grief over killing of a minor girl and demanded immediate action against the culprits involved in the sad incident.
Talking to media persons at Jinnah Hospital Mortuary, he demanded the Sindh government to depute women MLOs in sufficient numbers equal to the metropolis’ population, so that legal requirements can be completed in the shortest possible time and people do not have to suffer unnecessary delays.
