Virat, Anushka grateful to Indian media for not publishing pictures of daughter Vamika
Actor Anushka Sharma recently took to her Instagram stories to thank the Indian media for being respectful of her and her husband Virat Kohli’s requests for privacy and not publishing images of their daughter Vamika. Explaining that they wish for their daughter to “live her life freely away from media”, the couple asked the media to continue refraining from photographing the child and publishing her pictures.
“We are deeply thankful to the Indian paparazzi and most of the media fraternity for not publishing pictures/videos of Vamika. As parents, our request to the few who carried the images/video will be to support us going forward,” wrote the actor on behalf of herself and her husband.
“We seek privacy for our child and would like to do our best to give her a chance to live her life freely away from media and social media. As she is older, we cannot restrict her movement and hence your support is needed so kindly practice restraint in the matter,” she added.
“A special thank you to fan clubs and people of the internet for going out of your way to not post images. It was kind and highly mature of you,” concluded the statement by the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actor.
On the occasion of their daughter’s birth earlier this year, Kohli took to his social media and said, “We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Love, Virat.”
