ASPSCA rejects changing winter vacation schedule

According Sindh Education Department, the winter holidays in Sindh will be from December 20 to January 1

All Sindh Private Schools and Colleges Association (ASPSCA) Chairman Haider Ali while rejecting the letter of Sindh Home Department on winter vacations said the vacations have already started in Sindh.

According to the official notification of Sindh Education Department, the winter holidays in Sindh will be from December 20 to January 1.

However, the Sindh Home Department announced closure of educational institutions from January 3 to 10.

“All the provinces are observing holidays according to their schedule. The issue of holidays has been unnecessarily prolonged over the past week. Federal intervention in provincial affairs is unnecessary,” he said. “The Federal Ministry of Education is frivolous and lacks decision-making power. Winter vacations are a matter of time each year. Aren’t the provinces capable of fixing it themselves?” he added.

The sub-committee of the steering committee in Sindh has fixed the holidays on the instructions of the Sindh Education Minister who should stop issuing any other notification.

“Schools, parents and teachers have set up their own programs,” he said. The Sindh Home Department, on the instructions of the NCOC called for starting the winter holidays from January 3.

The Home Department has forwarded its recommendations to schools, colleges and universities as directed by the NCOC. Sindh Home Department has issued guidelines regarding Christmas.

According to the notification, the Home Department has said that those who have been vaccinated against coronavirus should be allowed to attend Christmas celebrations. Mobile vaccine vans should be placed around all churches so that people who have not been vaccinated can be vaccinated.
