The Bollywood power couple, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are readying themselves for the release of their upcoming cricket drama, '83. The duo will be seen in Kabir Khan's directorial, which tells the tale of how India won the Cricket World Cup in 1983. The film is said to be a biopic of India's then cricket team captain, Kapil Dev.
The couple is currently busy with promotional events for the film. Deepika and Ranveer recently visited Dubai, where they spoke to the press about their latest offering. While responding to a Pakistani journalist, Ranveer shared the film has a very special scene that will be appreciated by the fans on this side of the border.
"I would only like to say that there's a very special moment [in '83], that you as a Pakistani will be very happy when you see it," the actor shared with the journalist. "I wouldn't tell you what that scene is. You'll watch the film in a few days and then you will remember me when you watch that [particular] moment. It's very special for me. This film is full of moments like these."
Speaking about the film, he further added, "It is a film for everyone. For kids, for the elderly, women, people from all walks of life. The way the trailer has resonated with everyone is a testament to that. But if you are a cricket nut, then this film is another trip altogether. If you know those players and you know those details, there are cricket keeras [enthusiasts], they will also be like 'wah!'"
’83 also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, Saqib Saleem and Tahir Raj Bhasin, among others. The film is slated to release on December 24 in India.
