Last year, the first look of the much-anticipated film, Ishrat Made in China, was released. The film marks the directorial debut of actor Mohib Mirza, who will also play the protagonist in the movie.

Now, after a long wait, the first teaser of the film has finally been released and boy, does it look promising.

The film, which is largely a spin-off of the 2006 satirical TV series Ishrat Baji, stars Mohib himself alongside Sanam Saeed, Sara Loren, Ali Kazmi, Shamoon Abbasi, Nayyar Ejaz, Shabbir Jan, Imam Syed, Salman Saqib (Mani) and Mustafa Chaudhry. It will also mark the acting debut of acclaimed designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY).

The clip starts with HSY looking over the skyline in China, followed by Mohib's bloodied face in the next shot. We then see Ali, Mani and Murtaza, who seem to be playing the bad guys in the film, staring into the camera.

The next minute passes in the blink of an eye as we see a lot of punches flying around, with Sanam and Mohib shaking a leg in different settings.

The trailer seems to be well-edited as it serves the purpose of intriguing the audience but at the same time keeps the ambiguity of the film alive. We are yet to dive deeper into what the film is truly about.

Ishrat Made in China was announced in January 2019 but later stalled, and is now gearing up for release soon.

“The hit 2006 cult-classic television show Ishrat Baji is returning soon as a feature film. We can’t wait to see the much loved Ishrat Baji, a character made famous by Muhib Mirza, on the big screen soon,” Mohib, talking about his directorial, had previously shared in a statement.
