Protests against Sui gas load-shedding continue in the city. Residents of Nishtar Road blocked road on Thursday due to which not only the citizens faced difficulties but also the flow of traffic was severely affected.
According to the spokesperson for traffic police, as many as 250 residents of Nishtar Road protested against the non-supply of Sui gas.
As a result, the traffic leading to and coming from Lasbela to Garden Road was suspended. However, the traffic police reached the spot and diverted the vehicles to alternative routes.
The protesters demanded immediate end to the load-shedding of Sui gas in the area.
The protesters also complained about low gas pressure.
Demonstrators have called on the authorities to play their part in ensuring the provision of basic necessities of life.
On the one hand, there is a loadshedding of electricity throughout the year and on the other hand the gas load-shedding starts with the beginning of winter season.
Upon receiving reports of protest, the police reached the spot and restored the traffic after negotiating with the protesters.
