KARACHI:

Tariq Chandiwala, chief organiser of Pasban Democratic Party (PDP) Karachi, has said that if Prime Minister Imran Khan is sincere with the people of Karachi then he should give Karachi the constitutional status of Chartered City.

"The hearts of the people of Karachi cannot be won by inaugurating the projects of previous governments," he said and added that the PM sprinkled salt on the wounds of the people of Karachi by letting the cruel quota system continue. "He had claimed and promised to get the oppressed daughter of the nation, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui released but he didn't visit Aafia's home," he lamented.

The PDP chairman questioned whereabouts of the Karachi Circular Railway. "Incomplete metro service on one route is like a small cumin seed in a camel's mouth. Karachi needs mono-train on at least ten routes and 5,000 big buses," he said adding, "Karachi needs power plants, sewerage system, establishment of new industries and rehabilitation of existing ailing industries in every district."

In a statement issued from Pasban Press Information Cell, Chandiwala further said that Karachi made him the prime minister of the country.
