Woman allegedly raped by close relative

Victim was forcibly taken to secluded place

DIJKOT:

A woman was lured and raped by a close relative on Thursday.

The victim told police that she was temporarily living at a residence near Sheikhupura Road. She told the police that one of her close relatives, Asif Owais, came to her house and forcibly took her to a secluded place where he raped her. Police registered a case against the suspect under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and started searching for him.

Sexual assault cases where close relatives and acquaintances are involved are not uncommon in the province.

On November 30, a student of eighth grade was allegedly assaulted by a neighbour.
