Alvi for imparting cyber security training
Pakistan needs to train a bulk of capable human resource to fulfill the global needs of cyber security, said President Dr Arif Alvi.
Addressing the 28th Convocation of Military College of Signals (MCS) on Tuesday, he said that cyber security was a rapidly growing segment and a targeted approach in its education was required to persistently update the set of relevant skills of stakeholders.
“Millions of people possessing skills in fields of information technology and telecommunication are in demand across the globe as they are required to analyse the flood of available data,” he said. “In Pakistan, the capacity to process data is only 5% and professionals are direly needed for capacity building, skill development and training programmes.”
Referring to the frequent cyber attacks faced by the country, he said that enhanced security of national information systems was of dire significance for Pakistan.
