Maryam suspends ‘political activities’ for two weeks
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has suspended her political activities for the next 15 days owing to her son’s upcoming wedding reception, the party spokesperson said on Thursday.
After a lavish Nikkah ceremony of Muhammad Junaid in London in August, the grandson of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, the wedding reception will be held in Lahore this month.
According to sources, the reception of PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and her husband Muhammad Safdar Awan's son will take place on December 17.

PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said in a statement that Maryam will not be able to take part in political activities due to the family engagements.
The highly-anticipated Nikkah ceremony of Junaid was held with full pomp and splendour in London on August 22. He tied the knot with Ayesha Saif Khan at The Lanesborough, an elite five-star hotel on the Hyde Park Corner in Knightsbridge. Ayesha is the daughter of the PML-N chief’s close aide Saifur Rahman Khan.
Junaid had donned a tuxedo from an undisclosed designer, looking dapper with slicked-back hair, while his ladylove stunned in a pink and gold Sabyasachi bridal lehenga. She chose to wear her hair in a neat bun and accessorised the outfit with traditional gold jewellery.
