Man confesses to ‘choking wife to death’
A man allegedly choked his wife to death with his hands at their home in the Surjani Town locality.
Surjani own police said that initially the suspect, Zulfiqar, tried to mislead the police claiming that four suspects had barged into his house and raped and killed his wife.
However, the medico-legal report of the deceased, Laraib Zulfiqar, 26, made th cops suspicious and they thoroughly interrogated Zulfiqar in their own way. The suspect soon broke down and confessed to killing his wife.
Officials of the Surjani Town precinct said they had received report about body of a woman at a house in Sector L of Surjani Town.
Police officials who examined the crime scene found scars on Laraib’s neck. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post mortem examination.
The deceased was identified as Laraib's wife of Zulfiqar, who was about 26 years old.

Police officials said Zulfiqar claimed that when he returned home from duty at about 1:30 am, four people stopped him at the door with the force of a gun, and they entered the house with him. He also robbed the house and raped his wife.
The police found his statement suspicious. When police questioned him, he pleaded guilty to strangling his wife to death.
Zulfiqar said Laraib kept meeting her ex-husband and did not stop despite his repeated warnings. Police have arrested the accused and launched further investigation.
