Two security forces personnel were martyred during an engagement with a group of ‘externally sponsored terrorists’ after their check post was fired upon in the general area Tump, Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.

“To prevent the move of these terrorists into builtup areas, security forces responded with all available weapons, in which terrorists suffered heavy losses,” the military’s media wing added.

The martyred personnel were identified as Sepoy Naseeb Ullah, resident of Kharan, and Sepoy Insha Allah, resident of Lakki Marwat.

“It is reminded that Pakistan’s Security Forces remain determined to defeat acts of cowardly terrorists, aimed at disrupting peace, stability and Progress of Balochistan,” the ISPR added.

Earlier it was reported that at least 10 terrorists including four commanders were killed in an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) carried out by the security forces in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s South Waziristan district on the reported presence of a militant hideout.

According to a statement issued by the ISPR, the terrorists remained actively involved in planting IEDs, conducting fire raids and target killing of innocent civilians.
