Arguments reported between deceased and his wife

KARACHI:

A police officer reportedly shot himself dead after an argument with his second wife inside the apartment of a residential complex in Gulshan-e-Maymar.

It was reported that on Friday night, a man died under mysterious circumstances inside a residential apartment complex near Abuzar Ghaffari Society in Gulshan-e-Maymar in the SITE Super Highway police remits.

His body was first shifted to a nearby hospital and later to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The deceased was identified as Tariq Yameen, 40, son of Shakir.

The deceased was an ASI in the police department and posted to Security Zone-II. In this regard, SHO Imam Bakhsh Lashari said that during the initial findings, it surfaced that the police officer shot himself during a domestic dispute.

Tariq was married twice and was living with his second wife as well as a stepson. The deceased often quarreled with his wife. Reportedly, the police officer pulled out his pistol during a quarrel with his wife and shot himself with it.

The deceased's wife and stepson were present in the house at the time of firing. Police have recorded the statement of the stepson. A pistol and a spent shell were found at the scene of the crime. Further investigation is underway.
