Digital app portal for registration of families, owners of general stores developed by Ministry of Poverty Alleviation

Federal and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa governments have joined hands for speedy disbursement of Rs20 billion food subsidy in over three million households under the Prime Minister’s Ehsas Rashan Programme for next six months in the province.

Out of Rs20 billion subsidy on three high consumption food items including flour, ghee, cooking oil and pulses, the K-P government has decided to contribute Rs13 billion and federal government to provide Rs7 billion in the Rs120 billion landmark Prime Minister’s Ehsas Rashan Programme in order to help poor overcome the inflation problem, the officials of Ehsas Programme K-P said while talking to APP on Wednesday.

To ensure quick disbursement of the rashan package, he said a digital app portal for registration of families and owners of general stores has been developed by the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection, Islamabad in collaboration with National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) to serve beneficiaries through a network of stores across the country.
