President graces Balochistan with two-day visit

Alvi meets Balochistan CM, governor to discuss issues of mutual interest

President Dr Arif Alvi arrived on a two-day visit to Quetta on Monday accompanied by First Lady Begum Samina Arif Alvi.

Balochistan Governor Syed Zahoor Agha, Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Member of Provincial Assembly Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz, IG Police Rai Tahir, Provincial Ombudsman Nazar Baloch and other senior officials received the President at Quetta Airport.

After his arrival, President Alvi met Governor Agha and CM Bizenjo at Governor House. Important political issues, development of Balochistan and matters of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.

Later on, while presiding over a meeting on rehabilitation of special persons at Governor House, President Alvi stated that resources were distributed on the basis of the population under the NFC award and the government was committed to provide additional funds to the province so that the sense of deprivation could be eliminated.

He added that it was important to make disabled persons useful citizens of the society and for this purpose, the scope of Vocational Training Centers had to be expanded.

The president further said disabled persons had played an important role in society, adding they needed to be made skilled so that they could earn respectable employment and play their role in the development of the country.
