Atrium Mall: A mix of celebrations
Atrium Mall marks its first Independence Day with a festival and film premiere.
KARACHI:
On August 14, when Pakistani flags were hoisted on many rooftops, entertainment celebrities gathered at the Atrium Mall to celebrate Independence Day with an exclusive screening of Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Although heavy attendance was not expected, owing to the rain in the city on Saturday night, many actors, directors and models were spotted on the red carpet, making the launch of the 20th Century Fox production at the mall’s cinema a memorable one. The film is doing well at the box office and should be watched on the big screen for a larger-than-life experience.
The same day, Atrium Mall also launched Ramazan Festival to mark its first August 14. Organiser of the event Rizwan Machiyara shared his thoughts in a press release, saying: “To celebrate Independence Day, we had special plans to collaborate Ramazan and Jashne Azadi. The mall has also recently launched its gaming zone called GHQ. The first tournament has begun, it is turning into a hotspot for gamers. Besides this, we have arranged a designer’s exhibition on our first floor for Eid-specific shopping.”
Designers, both established and those without much retail exposure, have been housed on the first floor of the mall, offering an interesting mix of clothes, jewellery, accessories and spa services.
Senior TV actors like Sania Saeed and Behroze Sabzwari were spotted at the event along with Ahsan Rahim, Faisal Qureshi and Amina Khan — the trio behind the television comedy “Ulta Seedha”. From the world of fashion, models like Adnan Siddiqi and Nadia Hussain graced the event along with many other industry professionals.
The festival is scheduled to carry on till Chand Raat.
