Chakwal included in CRV pilot project

RAWALPINDI:

The Federal Ministry of Planning and Development on Tuesday included Chakwal District in a pilot project of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRV) to ensure timely registration of births and deaths by improving collaboration among health and local government sectors.

This was disclosed at the Capacity Building Workshop on CRV held at District Council Hall Chakwal.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chakwal Capt (Rtd) Bilal Hashim was the chief guest, while Dr SM Mursaleen and Dr Farah from the Federal Ministry of Planning imparted training and delivered informative lectures on CRV to the workshop participants.

It was conveyed on the occasion that the main objective of the CRV project was to provide an absolute guideline and support to the health and local government sectors for timely and 100% registration of births and deaths.

While welcoming the inclusion of Chakwal District in the pilot project of CRV, DC Chakwal said that holding a capacity building workshop for timely registration was a commendable initiative of the Ministry of Planning.
