DSP, accused released for lack of evidence

A case of recovery of four kilograms of hashish against policemen was heard before the court

KARACHI:

A local court has ordered the release of a DSP and accused Yaseen Rajpar in a case pertaining to recovery of four kilograms of hashish against police personnel and sent the case to the Sessions Court for further hearing.

A case of recovery of four kilograms of hashish against policemen was heard before the court of East Judicial Magistrate in the Karachi City Courts. The court ordered the release of DSP and accused Yasin Rajpar.

The court remarked that the evidence against DSP Ali Hassan Sheikh and Yasin Rajpar was insufficient and directed to send the case to Sessions Court for further hearing. However, the court said, hearing of the case against three suspects including two policemen would continue.

The suspects include Saleem and two police constables including Haq Nawaz and Mukhtiar. According to the police, the suspects were arrested on July 28, 2021 from the premises of Shahra-e-Faisal police station. Both cops were in police uniform and they were arrested in an intelligence-based raid.

During physical search, allegedly, two kilograms of hashish was recovered from policeman Haq Nawaz, two kilogram from policeman Mukhtiar whereas four kilogram was recovered from Saleem.
