Woman, daughter thrashed at court
A woman and her daughter, who had been contesting a legal battle for four years to get the custody of the children from her daughter’s ex-husband, were thrashed by the respondent's lawyer from the opposite side on premises of the Lahore High Court (LHC) while the security officials watched the whole episode as silent spectators.
Iqra and her mother Humaira Bibi approached the court of Justice Aalia Neelum where they had filed a petition against the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for not complying with a court’s order of issuing red-warrant to arrest Tahir Hussain (ex-husband) who deceivingly had taken the minors abroad.
According to details, after the divorce, the custody of the minors Dawood and Duryab were handed over to the children’s mother Iqra and then the guardian court had ordered the ex-husband to meet the children in the premises of the court in 2017.

One day, the respondent Tahir Hussain convinced the family of the minors to meet with the children in a hotel. Hussain served the family with intoxicated drinks owing to which they fell unconscious.
Later, the FIA lodged a case against Tahir Hussain and his sister Faiza Perveen for abducting the minors.
Petitioner Iqra, in her petition filed in LHC, requested the court to issue directives to the FIA to recover the children through Interpol and implement their letters for Red-Warrants against respondent Tahir Hussain. On Friday, fiery arguments were exchanged between the family and the opponent’s lawyer.
