As her latest outing, Red Notice, premieres in theatres and stuns fans all over again, Gal Gadot has her eyes set for another exciting project already. It is promised that the forthcoming venture will not only validate her beauty but portray her in a new iconic role too. Hints aside, according to Deadline, Gadot has considered the role of the Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It will be quite a treat to witness the DC superhero playing an iconic villain for Disney.

Director, Marc Webb, along with producer Marc Platt confirmed that the production for Disney’s live-action adaptation of everyone’s favourite childhood fairytale will begin in 2022. While Gadot essays the villain, the titular role of Snow White will be played by Rachel Zegler.

The 1938 cartoon adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was Disney’s inaugural animated feature and became a massive success for the studio. The original animated series was based on the Brothers Grimm fairytale. To commemorate the success Disney has seen following the cartoon adaptation, they have decided to only expand on the original storyline and experiment with musical choices.

The songwriters for this live-action film will be Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the Oscar and Tony-winning duo behind La La Land, The Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hansen. Since the project holds immense importance to the production’s journey, they have decided to take their time with the production and get everything from the music to costumes right.

The casting for Snow White was long and thorough, with opportunities to rope in previous iconic villains from Disney’s vault, with Gadot eventually making the cut. The Evil Queen essentially started the list of classic Disney villains and studio executives always had their eye on Gadot for this primary villain role. After working out the details of the schedule, a deal has been signed between the actor and the production.

Gadot has been on top of her game this past year with her stellar performance as Wonder Woman. She has belted out multiple successful projects and has some working acts in her slip. Her recent movie, Red Notice has fared well amongst audiences. She shares the screen with Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds in the project. Talking about superheroes and fairytales, Gadot is also developing Cleopatra currently as a producer with Paramount.
