'Well paid, India': Twitter brims with rib-tickling theories about Afghanistan's defeat to India
After India’s win against Afghanistan in yesterday’s T20 match, several cricket fans came up with hilarious theories, with many suspecting foul play. Some moments from the match, including the toss, were doing rounds on social media, with netizens claiming that Afghanistan was deliberately trying to lose the match in order to keep India alive in the tournament.
India posted the highest total of the current edition of the T20 World Cup to ease past Afghanistan in a must-win encounter between both teams. Batting first, India posted a total of 210/2 after Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul put up a 140-run opening stand after misfiring for the majority of the tournament. Afghanistan fell short of the target by 66 runs.
The hashtag ‘fixed’ was the number one trending topic in Pakistan last night, with several celebrities and public figures jumping on the bandwagon as well.
