LAHORE:

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) will ensure uninterrupted gas supply to the textile industry in winter season and will resolve all gas-related issues of the export-oriented industry on priority, announced SNGPL Managing Director Syed Ali Javaid Hamdani.

Speaking to members of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) on Monday, Hamdani emphasised the need for frequent interactions and meetings between SNGPL and Aptma for addressing the issues.

He assured members of the textile association that a mechanism would be established for addressing their complaints related to the return of gas infrastructure development cess (GIDC) arrears in accordance with judgements of the Lahore High Court. He pointed out that despite acute scarcity of gas in the country, SNGPL was making efforts to provide uninterrupted re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) to textile mills in the winter season to keep them operational and avoid any loss to the economy and exports.

Earlier, Aptma Chairman Abdul Rahim Nasir urged the visiting MD to ensure continuous supply of 185 mmcfd of RLNG in winter to keep the mills operational.
