National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) head Asad Umar said on Saturday that 40 million people had been fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 pandemic and about 70 million people had received a single dose of the vaccine.

In a tweet, the federal minister added that the government was making progress to vaccinate the people against the virus and expressed his confidence that the vaccination target would be met and exceeded.

On October 27, the NCOC chief reported that Pakistan had the lowest Covid-19 positivity ratio ever since the government started measuring the infection in the country.

The minister took to his official Twitter account to make the announcement, adding that the country currently had the lowest number of patients in critical care as well as the lowest mortality in a year.

“Positive impact of vaccination [is] showing but vaccination drive must continue,” the federal minister urged.
