Terms protests against inflation a public mandate against PTI govt

The country-wide protests against inflation are a public mandate against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government, said Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He commended the party officials and members for the protests across the country against the spiralling inflation in the country. Blaming the skewed policies of the PTI government for the runaway food and fuel prices, Chairman Bilawal said the country is resonating with the slogans of "Go Niazi, Go," which is a mandate against the regime that has plunged the country into an economic morass.

The call for liberation from Imran Khan is being heard in every street and neighbourhood of the country today, he said according to a statement issued from the Bilawal House Media Cell. He commended the PPP district bodies, students, youth and labour wings in all four provinces, AJK and GilgitBaltistan for holding successful protests against price hike of daily use items. "Imran Khan will be remembered as a person who caused an economic catastrophe in the country," Bilawal said as per the statement.

Rallies in Karachi

Addressing a protest rally at Regal Chowk under Pakistan Peoples Party Karachi South, Senator Raza Rabbani said that people across the country are protesting against the IMF and PTI government. He said that the rulers have deprived the laborer and the poor of thier bread. PPP Vice President Senator Sherry Rehma said that the countdown of the rulers has started as the people are protesting against inflation instability and mismanagement of the government.

PPP Sindh General Secretary Waqar Mehdi said that the people have come out in the streets to protest against inflation. We need the old Pakistan of Quaid-e-Azam and Quaid-e-Awam, he said. Senator Shahadat Awan, Javed Naguri, Senator Yousuf Baloch, Khalil Hout, Ashim Mumtaz, Shazia Sanghardi and others also participated in the demonstration and addressed the gathering. Addressing the gathering, former Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah said that Bilawal Bhutto has invited all parties to come to the fore and send the incompetent government home.

At a protest rally under PPP West District, Administrator KMC Murtaza Wahab said that the present government has let the inflation to tread freely while the poor people are desperate to keep thier lights on. All the policies of the selected government are for the benefit of certain sections, he said. During a rally at Singer Chowrangi under PPP Korangi district, Senator Taj Haider said PPP will continue protests until the removal of the selected government.

At Al-Asif Square Sohrab Goth under PPP East District, Senator Saleem Mandviwala said that at present there is a protest all over the country due to mismanagement of Imran Khan. The people are deprived of electricity and gas despite paying huge bills, he said. Meanwhile at the protest rally in Liaquatabad under PPP Central District, Sindh Minister for Social Welfare Syeda Shehla Raza said that the Imran Khan's government has made the lives of people miserable.

Rallies across Sindh

The workers of PPP took to streets across Sindh on Friday on the call of the party’s chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari raking Pakistan Tehreeke-Insaf’s government over the coals for plunging the country in a deep economic crisis. Speaking at a protest in Hyderabad the senior PPP leader Moula Bux Chandio said Prime Minister Imran Khan appeared negligent about the adverse economic and social consequences of his poor governance. “He keeps exploding bombs of inflation over the people without realizing the impacts,” Chandio bemoaned. MPA Sharjeel Inam Memon said the protest is a referendum against the Khan government. “Khan himself used to say if the people witness inflation they should know that their rulers are thieves.”

He also reminded Khan how his party had announced support for Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan’s sit-in protest against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s government. “But today when Khan is in power he is ordering the police to fire gunshots on them.” Thousands of people participated in a rally taken out in Larkana district. “PM Khan should resign otherwise we will use all options to oust the so called Tabdeeli Sarkar,” warned PPP Sindh president Nisar Ahmed Khuhro while addressing the protest sit-in in Larkana.

Khursheed Shah, who was recently released from NAB custody, accused Khan at a protest in Sukkur district for blatantly reneging on his promises made to the nation about ushering in an era of prosperity. Addressing the PPP’s supporters in Mirpurkhas district MNA Mir Munawar Talpur said Khan’s government has been turning the prices of the essential food items and fuel beyond reach of the poor people.

“The Niazi government has broken all records of inflation witnessed during the last seven decades.” In Tharparkar district the traders observed a strike as the PPP’s workers organized a protest rally. Dr Mahesh Malani said continuity of the incumbent government bode ill for the country. He contended that only Bilawal Bhutto Zardari led PPP’s government can pull out the country from the quagmire of inflation and poverty.

Central Information Secretary Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamrntarinans Shazia Marri led a camel cart rally of PPP workers and people from her village Berani to Tando Adam Press Club in order to protest against the unprecedented inflation, unemployment and bad economic policies of the government.
