'Khel Khel Mein' is the first Pakistan film to hit cinemas post pandemic

As cinemas reopen, Filmwala Pictures gear up for a November release!

Just when we thought we’d never be able to watch a film in a cinema ever again – that too a Pakistani film in a Pakistani cinema – theatres reopened and now the first Pakistani film to grace the big screens has also been announced.

Fiza Ali Meerza and Nabeel Qureshi’s Khel Khel Mein is the lucky contestant to have proceeded to the first round! The film starring Sajal Aly and Bilal Abbas is gearing up for a nationwide November 19 release, according to an announcement made by Filmwala Pictures.

“Filmwala Pictures is excited to announce the first Pakistani film to be released post covid-19 and upon the opening of Cinemas nationwide. Thank you to all our fans for being so patient!” shared Sajal in the caption of a post she shared on Insta, featuring the poster of her flick.

She went on to assure that the “anticipated wait will be well worth it! See you all at your nearest theatre [to] watch how love overcomes power and how creative ideas by the youth have the power to change minds.”

Responding to a query about the project earlier in April, Qureshi had said, “Khel Khel Mein is different from my previous movies. The genre will be drama/historical.” The auteur mentioned how he had an amazing experience working with Khan and Aly was his first pick for the movie.

The fan-favourite couple of Khan and Aly has previously graced the silver screen together in O’Rangreza and their chemistry had left fans swooning. Previously, upon becoming a part of Khel Khel Mein, Khan had penned, “Working with the finest producer and director duo in the country for the first time. Iss baar milte hain theatre mein (We shall meet in theatres this time).”
