Pakistan's Covid positivity ratio at its lowest ever: Asad Umar

National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) chief Asad Umar said on Wednesday said that Pakistan now has the lowest Covid-19 positivity ratio ever since the government started measuring the infection in the country.

The minister took to his official Twitter account to make the announcement, adding that the country currently had the lowest number of patients in critical care as well as the lowest mortality in a year.

“Positive impact of vaccination [is] showing but vaccination drive must continue,” the federal minister urged, further stating that globally 7,500 people died of Covid yesterday

According to the NCOC, the current positivity rate of the country is 1.34% with 516 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours. At least 13 people passed away while 1,445 are in critical care.

As many as 717 people recovered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,217,935.
