Security jibes, apology forms and sheer joy: Pakistani Twitter hits gold after win against NZ
It was rather heartbreaking for Pakistani fans when New Zealand pulled out of the Pakistan tour at the last minute in September. Well, we had some scores to settle last night. And the boys did not disappoint.
Pakistan underlined their credentials as early Twenty20 World Cup favourites when they held their nerve to beat New Zealand by five wickets on Tuesday and secure a second straight victory in the tournament. Chasing a modest 135 for victory after pace bowler Haris Rauf choked out New Zealand with four wickets, Pakistan were in trouble at 69-4 but crossed the line in 18.4 overs for a fine start in their bid for a second championship.
However, the win wasn't as easy as the one against arch-rivals, India. New Zealand held their own with an almost seamless fielding and bowling attack in the second innings of the match. Pakistani Twitter, as always, entertained the fans throughout the match as they go through varied emotions.

The security threat no one warned NZ about
The apology we all owe to Haris Rauf, Shoaib Malik and Asif Ali
The much-needed pop culture references
It's truly not easy being a Pakistani cricket fan. Here's some proof:
We're bringing the A-game, baby!
Here's hoping Pakistan keeps the momentum going!
