Disgruntled MPAs withdraw no-trust motion

Move comes after CM Jam Kamal tenders resignation

The members of the angry group of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), who had tabled the no-confidence motion last week in the house against the Chief Minister have withdrawn their motion after resignation of Jam Khan Khan Alyani, on Monday.

The Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly Mir Abdul Qadoos Bizenjo , who was presiding over assembly session informed the house that there will be no voting on the no-trust motion as Mr. Alyani has resigned from the office of the Chief Minister and official notification about the acceptance of the resignation has also issued.

Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, who had tabled the no-trust motion against the Chief Minister on October 20th on the behalf of the movers, moved the resolution in the house and sought the

permission to withdraw no-trust motion. The members allowed him to take back the motion.

The former Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani, members of his cabinet who were supporting him including coalition partners have not attended the assembly session which was called for voting on no-trust motion. Only one MPA Khalil Gorage Bhutto, representing minorities was present in the house.

Members and Speaker while speaking after withdrawal of no-trust motion condemned the incident of the disappearance of female MPAs and said that it was a kind of incident in the history of Balochistan which is against the tribal tradition of the province.

Speaker Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo said that Balochistan has its own traditions and it always gives honor and respect to the women and minorities. People pardon even muder when women come forward. He said that with disappearance the wrong traditions were created. He said that all segments of society and media took up this issue until women MPAs returned back to the Assembly.

He further said that our members remained intact till the last moment and, “ I said on the floor of the house moving no-trust motion is right of the members and it is also their right to cast their vote according to their will,” he said, adding that what happened is against the democratic values.

Opposition leader Malik Sikander while taking the floor said that during last one week the former Chief Minister offered huge money and hurled threats for changing their loyalties but they refused all offers and remained intact and not changed their loyalties
