Celebratory gunfire injures several
Reasons to celebrate soon turn into tragedy for some in the city as aerial firing is often the first way many choose to express their joy.
Pakistan's comprehensive victory over India was no exception as several people, including two children, were injured in different areas of the city on Sunday night.
The condition of the injured persons is said to be out of danger. The injured are being treated at public and private hospitals.
A man was injured in aerial firing by unidentified persons near Shafiq Mor, Power House area of Sir Syed. He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment.
According to a spokesperson for Karachi Police, the injured man was identified as Adeel Ahmed, son of Abdul Saleem, 33.
Another man was injured in a firing incident near Sector 10/A, Khan Bus Stop in Surjani Town. He was also shifted to the ASH where the injured was identified as Hashim Khan, 32.
In another such incident, a man was injured in Orangi Town. He was also shifted to ASH. He was identified as Aftab, 16.
Meanwhile, another man was injured in firing in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. He was also shifted to ASH. The injured was identified as police Sub-Inspector Abdul Ghani, 50.
The injured is posted at Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station. The shooting occurred due to aerial firing in the area.

In yet another incident, a man was injured in House No. 923, Data Nagar, Orangi Town. He was also shifted to ASH for medical treatment.
According to a police spokesperson, the injured was identified as Abdul Rehman, son of Ijaz Anwar, 10. The shooting is a case of aerial firing.
A man was injured in a firing incident near Power House Chowrangi, Shafiq Mor in Samanabad area.
He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment.According to a Karachi police spokesperson, the injured was identified as Amirullah, son of Qalandar Khan, 35. The shooting occurred due to aerial firing in the area.
Another man was injured in firing by unknown persons near Hashmi Mohalla Gol Market in Nazimabad area. He was shifted to ASH for medical treatment. According to a police spokesperson, the injured man was identified as Shaanul Hassan, son of Ikramul Hassan, 45.
Separately, another individual was injured in a firing incident near 4K Chowrangi, Bilal Colony in North Karachi. He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
According to a Karachi police spokesperson, the injured man was identified as Muhammad Rashid son of Sher Muhammad, 34.
Also, a man was injured in firing by unknown persons in Sachal Society area. He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment. According to a Karachi police, the injured was identified as Abdul Lali, son of Abdul Rehman, 13.
