Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh set to bid for new IPL team

Bollywood couple are planning to bid for the team along with Manchester United.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the release of a tender to own and operate an Indian Premier League team and issued invitation tender on August 31, reported India Today.

Now, reports claim that popular duo and Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are all set to own an IPL team.

The IPL is expected to be a ten-team affair in 2022. And while BCCI will have bidding for two new Indian Premier League teams, Outlook India suggests that Deepika and Ranveer might end up owing an IPL team with Cristiano Ronaldo's Manchester United.

It is probable since Deepika is a sports enthusiast, provided her father Prakash Padukone is a renowned badminton player, while Ranveer is the brand ambassador for NBA. He has also been involved with the English Premier League.

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders is co-owned by Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla, Preity Zinta is the co-owner of Punjab Kings and Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra also had stakes in Rajasthan Royals.
