LAHORE:

The country obtained a good yield of six major crops last year owing to the policies of the incumbent government, said Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Food Security Jamshed Iqbal Cheema.

Addressing during an event held to mark White Cane Safety Day on Thursday, he revealed that 20 million families were receiving food subsidy under the Ehsaas programme.

“The people who do not pay farmers are being arrested,” he highlighted, adding that the country was now heading towards progress and prosperity.

“It is a good omen that Pakistan’s textile, agriculture and housing sectors are growing,” he said.
