Musharraf's return
KARACHI:
This is with reference to your editorial “Return of Musharraf” (June 22). It is difficult to understand why a man who failed to make any substantial difference in the fortunes of our country wants to return. Our nation doesn’t need leaders who were given power and achieved nothing. We need young, talented, and energetic leaders with revolutionary ideas.
The platform of various Muslim Leagues has been used, and subsequently abused. It’s about time we understand that our survival as a self respecting nation doesn’t depend on the return of failed leaders, or religion’s symbolic power. We will only progress when our collective Pakistani identity, in its true sense, is understood, applied, practiced, admired and valued.
