Two minor girls among four ‘raped’

Police register cases, launch hunt for suspects

Four persons including two minor girls were allegedly sexually assaulted in the city on Monday.

Police registered cases and launched raids to nab the suspects.

According to the police report, the complainant told Ghulam Muhammadabad police that she was accompanied by her friends and going to a function.

Meanwhile, the accused Waheed, a resident at Piranwala Chowk, along with Ijaz Bhatti, resident of Subhanallah Chowk, held them at gunpoint. The complainant’s friend, a transgender person, was allegedly abducted, rape and subjected to torture. The suspect also allegedly stabbed the rape victim after she resisted while Ijaz kept guard.

Ghulam Muhammadabad police registered a case under provision of 377 PPC and started searching for the suspects. Separately, the suspect Rana Ishtiaq, son of Niyaz, lured a woman on the pretext of offering her a job. He then assaulted the woman’s sister at gunpoint and also subjected the victim to torture. The incident took place at a house on Hassan Nagar area, Jaranwala Road.

Police filed a case under the provision of 376 PPC.

Moreover, a suspect Majeedul Karim, 20, raped a 12-year-old girl while she was playing outside the house in Chak No 603GB.
