PPP set for ‘grand gathering’ today

PPP leader claims 'millions of workers and supporters' will participate in grand public meeting

Pakistan Peoples Party Central Information Secretary and Member National Assembly Shazia Atta Marri said that PPP is going to hold a grand public gathering on Sunday at Bagha-e-Jinnah in Karachi to pay homage to the martyrs of the October 18, 2007, bomb blast.

She added millions of PPP workers and supporters will participate in the grand public meeting. She said that many of the party’s workers and supporters were martyred and dozens were injured during the incident, while Benazir Bhutto stood by the bereaved families.

“The commitment of party leaders and workers is in the same spirit today, like that of Zulfikar Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto with the people.”

She said that the incompetent government of Imran Khan was imposed on the people of the country and this has life difficult due to high inflation rates and joblessness.

She said that once again, the government had increased the prices of petroleum products which was a highly condemnable act. “PPP has rejected this anti-people decision and demanded its immediate withdrawal in order to provide relief to the masses.

Shazia Marri said that PPP’s Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had always spoken about the rights of common people and the aim was to work for their betterment and welfare.

She further said that the people of the country are enraged by the present puppet government and people are also cursing them.
