Kamal says will defeat no-trust vote after meeting PM
After a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday, the troubled Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan said that he would face the no-confidence motion instead of resigning from the CM post, claiming support of some “angry members” too.
On Monday, 14 members of the Balochistan Assembly submitted a no-confidence motion against CM Kamal, blaming him for gas water, electricity and economic crises in the province.
Talking to the media persons after calling on Premier Imran at the Parliament House in Islamabad, CM Kamal once again denied that he resigned as Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) president and claimed that his position was still strong.
During the meeting at Parliament House, PM Imran was briefed by CM Kamal on the progress on development projects initiated under the Balochistan Package.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the development of Balochistan is one of the top priorities of the incumbent government. “The government has announced a historic package for Balochistan and is taking steps on a priority basis to develop the province.”
In Islamabad, Kamal also met the chief election commissioner and informed him about his concerns regarding the acting BAP president. Kamal expressed his grievances over the letter written by the acting chief and General Secretary Manzoor Kakar to the ECP.
Presenting a letter of denial to the CEC regarding the party presidency, Kamal said that the notification of Zahoor Buledi as the acting president of the party is “illegal”.
Talking to the media outside the Election Commission Office, Kamal said that he had submitted a petition to the CEC. “I just shared my desire to resign on Twitter but the party workers and friends approached me and urged not to resign so I acted according to their wishes.”
Kamal said that he was surprised that no official action was taken against those involved in the scam and on the contrary, the party-appointed an acting president.
“There is no place for an acting president in Balochistan. Our executive committee has to decide on this matter,” he said.
On allegations of horse-trading, he claimed that he was not involved in it and the question should be posed to his opponents.

To another question, he said that he didn’t resign from the party presidency and would face a no-confidence motion. He appeared confident enough of defeating the no-trust vote.
Later, Kamal called on National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and discussed issues of parliamentary and mutual interest including the overall political situation in the country.
