Seven remanded in women trafficking case

A local court has handed over seven members of a gang, accused of women trafficking, to the police for two-day physical remand.
The police produced seven members of the alleged women trafficking gang, including Sher Muhammad Khan, Hakeem and Saeed Zaman before the South judicial magistrate at the Karachi City Court.
The seven accused were arrested from Delhi Colony, said the police, adding that they were involved in illegal activities. The police sought two-day physical remand for further interrogation.
Granting the police’s request, the court handed over the accused and sought a progress report from the investigating officer at the next hearing.

Interim bail granted
Meanwhile, a local court granted interim bail to the nominated suspects in Mehran Town factory fire case. Korangi Deputy Commissioner Saleemullah Odho, Assistant Commissioner Sajida Ayaz, Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) officers Syed Muhammad Salman, Khizar Hayat and Muhammad Rizwan were granted bail.
Announcing the verdict, the district and sessions court granted interim bail to the suspects directing each of them to submit surety bonds of Rs500,000.
The court while ordering all the suspects to appear in the trial court directed them to cooperate in the investigation and record their statements.
The court adjourned the hearing till October 16.
