A fiction novel unveiled on Friday discusses the perils of a family migrating from ancestral home to the then East Pakistan in 1947 and from there to Karachi in present-day Pakistan in 1971.
Author Naheed Sultan Mirza, while expressing her views said that psychologists say that dreams have a deep connection with people, sometimes people get interpretation and sometimes destruction. "My fiction is also like the interpretation of my dreams. This novel is the story of a tragedy connected to our city, Karachi."
The Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) Karachi held the book launching ceremony of Taqseem se Taqseem Tak or from partition to partition at the Haseena Moin Hall.
Speakers included Shabbar Zaidi, Iqbal Lateef, Ikhlaq Ahmed, Saira Ghulam Nabi and Ahmed Imtiaz.

Nowadays people speak about the colonial era and the novel Taqseem se Taqseem Tak has a lot of importance which can be discussed in various dimensions, said Prof Sehar Ansari, presiding over the event. Expressing his views Shabbar Zaidi said after reading this novel a question arises in my mind that the person who has lived in a house for three generations, whether that house actually belongs to that person or not? "In my personal opinion, this novel will raise many questions, our generation should have been more connected with this land," he added.
Concluding the event, author Naheed expressed gratitude to the attendees, speakers, and ACP Karachi President Muhammad Ahmed Shah.
