Man held for harassing step-daughter

Sargana is further accused of looting the women he married and divorcing them afterwards

The South zone Women Police arrested on Friday a man accused of harassing his stepdaughter. Alleged harasser, Ali Hasnain Sargana, the former husband of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Laila Parveen, was arrested in a raid on Tauheed Commercial, Defence Housing Authority after an FIR was lodged against him at the Gizri Police Station.

According to police, Parveen lodged a complaint accusing Sargana of harassing and threatening her daughter with a weapon. Several cases of harassment were already lodged against Sargana, said the police, adding that the alleged harasser was shifted to the Women Police Station in Saddar. Quoting Parveen, the police said Sargana has been married nine times and currently has four wives. Sargana has also been accused of abusing children.

Sargana is further accused of looting the women he married and divorcing them afterwards. The PTI leader told the police that she found out about the harassment from one of her relatives as her daughter was terrified. She said she married to Sargana five years ago around the time when his license was cancelled by the Lahore Bar Association in 2017. The police confirmed several complaints received against Sargana for harassment and abuse. Further investigation was underway.
