Work begins on road connecting SITE to Hub River
KMC Administrator and Sindh Government Spokesman Murtaza Wahab said construction work of a 5km road from Ghani Chowrangi in the SITE area has begun.
This road site will connect the industrial area with Hub River Road. This road was in disrepair and its reconstruction will significantly benefit SITE, Kemari industrialists and the public, Wahab said. He made the remarks while inspecting road construction work at the SITE industrial area on Thursday.
Chief minister's special assistants Asif Khan and Ali Ahmad Jan were also present on the occasion. The administrator said that as soon as the rainy season ended, construction of the road began and would be completed in the next five days.
"The construction of this road has long been a problem in this area, and the industrial community, as well as the general public, also demanded that it be built as soon as possible. Under the municipality of Karachi, construction of 14 more roads is underway in this industrial area and the details will be revealed soon.'
He said that the purpose of these works was to improve the area because millions of people are employed there. He added many of them continue to travel daily. He said development in these areas would also boost industrial and business activities. He added basic infrastructure would be improved in all industrial zones of Karachi. "Green belts will be planted along the roads and crossings/roundabouts will be beautified." He continued that special care was being taken in construction work to ensure that it is sustainable. Wahab hoped people would continue to benefit from them for a long time.
"We believe in serving the people," the administrator said. "This PPP's journey of public service will continue. We will provide as many facilities as possible to the citizens."
