KARACHI:

"Gods, kings, fire and blood," the first teaser of the much-awaited Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragons, started off with fewer words and more action in a minute-long clip. The show, which revolves around the history of the infamous House Targaryen, will be available to stream on HBO Max.

The prequel, which is set 200 years before the fall of the throne aka Robert's Rebellion, will see the House Targaryen in all its glory. We see the dynasty that reigned the seven kingdoms for several centuries and consequently fell to its ultimate disintegration. In a very Game of Throne-esque manner, the trailer is laden with nail-biting fight sequences and the grandeur that followed.

Two years after the rather disappointing Game of Thrones finale, fans had been eagerly waiting for the prequel that would shed light on one of the strongest houses in the seven kingdoms. The first scene of the trailer sees a Targaryen walking in a crypt, which follows up by a giant dragon head. We see a glimpse of King Viserys I, Prince Daemon Targaryen and Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen - King Viserys I younger brother and the elder born respectively.

The teaser proceeds to then show a Targaryen royal walking towards the coveted Iron Throne. The audience is to expect the same magnificence they have been accustomed to in the previous Emmy-winning award show. "Dreams didn't make us kings, dragons did." the teaser concluded.

The cast includes Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Emma D'Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower.

Savannah Steyn, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan and Theo Nate have also joined the cast as members of the Vela
