Islamabad police on Friday claimed to have arrested five suspects involved in the killing of three persons in separate incidents of firing in the federal capital.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Islamabad Police Senior Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Attaur Rehman said that three men were killed in the jurisdiction of Bani Gala and Industrial Area police stations.

He said that Mirza Naveed was targeted on the 9th Avenue on 24 September while four other people had been injured.

On 25 September, he said, two persons, Rashid Mahmood and Ansar Maqsood, were killed in the New Mal area of Bani Gala Police Station.

The SSP said that Islamabad Police Inspector General Qazi Jamil ur Rehman had ordered the concerned officials to ensure the arrest of the culprits. Following his orders, special police teams were constituted to arrest the accused. He said the police, with the help of modern technology, apprehended the five accused.

He said that three accused, Abrar Hussain, Raziq Nisar and Shah Rez were arrested from Karachi with the help of FIA while Arbab and Khawar were arrested from Islamabad. He said there was a dispute between the two parties over the Model Town Housing Society.
