Sindh, US launch immunisation awareness campaign

US has delivered assistance worth $63m in the form of emergency medical supplies since the beginning of the pandemic

KARACHI:

The United States and Sindh government have joined hands to launch an immunisation awareness campaign - Fizaaon Se Falaah Tak - to encourage Pakistani citizens to get vaccinated against Covid19 and save lives.

US Chargé d'affaires Angela P Aggeler launched the campaign in partnership with actor Mahira Khan, singer and humanitarian Shehzad Roy, and Sindh Minister for Health Dr Azra Fazal Pechuhu at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

KMC Administrator Murtaza Wahab and Health Secretary Dr Kazim Jatoi were also present on the occasion.

Aggeler and Pechuhu visited JPMC's vaccination centre to observe US Pfizer vaccine inoculations. The US has donated almost 15.8 million life-saving Covid-19 vaccine doses to Pakistan since July, and plans to donate another 9.6 million Pfizer doses in October.
