Police on Thursday, with the help of CCTV footage, arrested the suspect who had allegedly been abducting and raping minors for a year.
A case has been registered against the accused.
As per official sources, the arrest was made possible through a collaborative effort by SHO Madina Town Mian Wajid and SHO Millat Town Abid Hussain. The cops had also sought help from the intelligence agencies to nab the alleged molester.
According to police, the suspect identified as Nafis, son of Shafiq Mumtaz, was fond of abducting teenage girls and young boys to fulfil his sexual desires. “He lured teens and children out to buy grocery or other items from a shop and took them to desolate locations on a motorcycle to abuse them,” a police official told The Express Tribune.
During the preliminary investigation, he said the accused revealed that he kidnapped dozens of minor girls and boys from different areas.

He said he kidnapped minors from Mohalla Fatehabad, Data Colony, Razaabad, Mansoorabad, People’s Colony and Jaranwala Road in Faisalabad. Police revealed that the suspect was on the run despite the fact that the cops had access to CCTV footage which showed his face.
CPO Dr Abid Khan announced cash rewards and certificates for SHO Millat Town and SHO Madina Town who arrested the accused with the help of modern technology.
Case number 46 in Razabad police station, case 293 and 737 in People’s Colony police station, case 1,124 in Batala Colony police station, 994 in Mansoorabad police station, and 1,062 in Saddar Faisalabad police station were all reportedly registered already against the apprehended suspect for molesting girls and boys.
Sustainable Social Development Organisation had launched district-wise analysis of state of violence against women and children in Punjab (Jan-Jun 2021) which had revealed that 41 cases of child abuse were registered in Faisalabad.
